10 years...

Well, we returned to Eric's old stomping grounds to go to his 10 YEAR HS reunion!! Luckily for me, I went to college with alot of his classmates (and was even friends with some of them he wasnt!) so it was actually a really good time. Some of our best friends went to HS in Mauldin with Eric and we had a good weekend.

We stayed with the Owen's (actually Josh's parents) and had a good time visiting with them and seeing the kids. We pre-partied with a stop at a bar just to warm up before seeing all the old faces ...

Then we went into the reunion and saw our old friends, the Burnetts

We had to go downtown to see Ben - and reunite the 'Three Amigos'. Ben, Eric and Josh were best of friends in HS (and Ben was my best friend in college - and actually how I MET Eric - 'thank you Ben!!") and he didn't want to go to the reunion -but we hunted him down anyway - and I think in the end he might have been glad we did!

All in all we had a really fun weekend - and hopefully Greenville will welcome us back again soon!

til next time.... <3 the Moores

Mullett

Since this is the first (of hopefully many) Mullett Lake posts, I will let those of you who don't know in on a family secret. This is the GREATEST place on EARTH!! My FAVORITE place in the whole world, and a great relaxing family vacation. Mullett Lake is a small lake in upstate Michigan - and as my family says, "Our own little slice of heaven..."

We visit the lake (almost) every year with my whole family and lucky for me its almost always over my bday!! This year was the first time Eric and I had been in two years. ahhh! It was soo great to be back!

This is Mullett Lake's new mascot! The bald eagle has taken up residency on the point right next to our cottage and we got to see him quite a bit - I just couldn't get over how regal he was. Amazing!

This year's trip was a little more relaxed and laid back than years before, b/c the weather wasn't as nice (so no rush to get to the dock!) and well, other reasons we can discuss later :) But we did have a couple dock days and I got in the water (once) - but the boys stayed in it even though it was freezing and had a good time.

Beck, Dad and Chad

Of course we had one night on the porch with picture taking - this year it was before Vivio's (best pizza - EVER!)

and these two lucky ducks were there all summer!! Beck and Mama Sue

and finally, Eric and I. We enjoyed our vacation - and fun family times!!

ahhh - now I wish I was on vacation again. But back to the real world!

The moment you've all been waiting for...

So here it is! A Shark leading in the group of divers! Two of those divers (the first two in the front behind the 'leader') are Eric and Todd!! Yeah - that's right. I said my husband was the one right behind the SHARK!! ha!

And so you can get a better idea how SMALL people are compared to WHALE SHARKS - there is this one!

And here is the infamous 'bump' - where the whale shark quite literally RUNS INTO my husband. No big deal...

So how did the boys feel AFTER swimming with the sharks?!?

Riiiight... moving on, they were very glad there were not any of these puppies in the tank

After the aquarium, we did gallivant around downtown Atlanta a bit, and enjoy the view from our hotel!

All in all it was a REALLY fun weekend (even for those of us OUTSIDE the shark tank!) and the boys were very excited and glad they lived to tell about it...

Sharks, lots and lots of Sharks....

So, I promised sharks, and I won't disappoint, but we had to start the weekend on a bit of a lighter note, and in Atlanta there is nothing more fun than taking pictures in paper hats at the Varsity...and so we did.
Todd and Becca

and me and Eric

Then after that light lunch (ha!) we headed off to the aquarium. First we stopped by the big tank to see what the boys were gonna be up against once they jumped in.
And at first things didn't look so bad, huge manta ray...

Man Eating Grouper...

But then ....

without futher ado...

I presnt to you...

Da-Dum (hammerheads!)

Da-Dum (sawtooths and whale sharks!)

Da-dum da-dum da-dum (if you dont' get this yet its my lame attempt at the Jaws noise!)

Yeah...and after we saw this, how did the boys feel about swimming in the tank?

hmmm...to be continued...

Good Times

Well, its been awhile (again) since I posted, but we have been having good time (and we haven't been home since June...)

First things first, we did go visit Lauren over the 4th of July - and we visted "The Happiest Place on Earth" - as you can plainly see by Eric's face as he eats Mickey's head!

We also went scalloping while we were there. And I use the term 'we' loosely - b/c last time we went scalloping, I hyperventilated through my snorkel, so I might have worked on my tan while Eric and Lauren searched for scallops.

All in all we had a really good time in Florida on our mini-vacation. But stay tuned folks, next time on the adventures of Eric and Nikki one of us swims with sharks, lots and lots of sharks (and I am seriously not kidding!) Signing off then, until next time!

Funny

I LOOOOOVE my husband. He makes me laugh all the time.

I am in the process of going through our wedding photos to finally pick some to print and maybe have an album to show off. In this process I found this HILARIOUS picture.

This is Eric and I with our flower girl Josie (my BFF's Daughter) and our ring bearer Patrick (Eric's BFF's son).

Now...I am sure Patrick wont' find this picture too funny later in life - but I LOVE Eric's face in this picture. Screaming child in his lap that obviously doesn't want to be there and he is scared - but laughing. To Patrick's defense, I think he does actually like Eric. But he hadn't had a nap that day - and was probably tired of being in the spotlight. And, just to prove that Patrick does really like him - there is this photo from the other weekend (and its still funny b/c it has the 'godfather' shrits!)

(Patrick has on his King of the Ring shirt too - his gift for being in the wedding - and its obviously from Eric b/c its camo!)

Finally, also from the BIG EVENT weekend just past - is another gem of a photo that makes me laugh - which is the thing I love about my husband (almost) the most. All the fun we have and how much he makes me laugh.

Muah! kisses to my hubby - dontcha just love him?

Catching Up

Well I have promised gardening and I have promised Magical Orlando vacations, but I am way behind on my weekends too - so I thought I would try to "catch up" today.
See...there was this other really fun weekend, and alot of BIG things were happening! First, BK (my BFF) had her littlest sister get married!

Me and BKJessie made a GAH-ORGEOUS bride (of course) and she and Ed probably had more fun at the altar than any couple I have seen. Making faces at each other and generally having a really good time. Now, someone who didn't have such a great time was Josie (BK's daughter) - her flowergirl duties have been overwhelming in the past year (Erica, Jessie and I have all made her play dress up!) So Josie and I watched from the back of the church - and honestly I could see way better from there anyhow.

This is Jessie and I after the service (seriously - she's beautiful!)

And unfortunately we could only stay for the wedding b/c we had to go to Raleigh for yet ANOTHER big event. Eric's best friend, Josh, had his littlest baby getting christened.

Eric and JoshEric with his homemade Godfather shirt on - but wait - it gets much better. See, he made little Meghan a shirt to match - and she loved it!!

Can't you just see the excitement in her face?!? And yes, it says My Godfather Loves Me - with a really crazy up-close picture of Eric's head in the middle of it. He says he will make her another one when she is of dating age - with a picture of him cleaning his gun.

It was a great fun filled, BIG event weekend. And on a more serious note, Eric did make a pretty great Godfather. He cleans up well and even had lines in the service. It was a really good time.

Congratulations Everyone!! Big life events, we are growing up! :)
