24 Weeks - no stripes!

We are now at 24 weeks - in my 'belly book' it tells me that is the end of the second trimester - but according to ALL the other books and websites we still have 4 more weeks until the third trimester starts.  Probably not enough time to accomplish all the 'planning' and 'nesting' things they tell you to accomplish while you feel good in the second trimester - but certainly enough time to get them started.
We bought a crib this week (which is good for mama b/c making the bedding without a crib to make sure it fits was a scary thought) and we are looking at carpet (to replace all the old nasty stuff upstairs before we assemble the whole nursery), and lots of other fun planning things.  Its a very exciting time to be planning our little man's space and to be feeling him move - ALL THE TIME.  He really is a mover and a shaker and I told Eric he is going to be a FUN kid - so we definitley have to find him a FUN name!
Without further ado... little man making mama big - at 24 weeks.....

The stripes heard 'round the World....

Last Friday I thought I had stumbled across a cute pregnancy outfit.  The tank top is not 'pregnancy' per se - but was always very long on me before and I thought looked cute with jeans.

23.5 weeks - in the 'Stripes heard 'round the World top'

Instead, I had three comments (that I know about) at work that day including, "Wow!  You are definitely showing now!", "How far along is she?!?" (not posed to my face but to a close co-worker), and my personal fave (in terms of not favorite at all) "You sorta look like Mickey Mouse because each of your boobs is as big as your belly."  Nice.  I left not feeling very great about myself - but decided to go ahead and open it up for comment here in this bloggy blog (and by that I mean you - my close friends and family - now have an opportunity to make me feel better about this outfit - and convince me that I have a 'cute' baby bump).

22, 23 weeks

22 weeks ...
Immediately after this picture I headed out for a week long trip for work.  My first time away from Eric since we found out and honestly I wasn't looking forward to it.  I ended up enjoying the trip, the company and the good work experience I gained in my week gone.  The extra 'travel' weight I gained... eh, I could have done without that.  Week 23 would show that I am now very pregnant in my face, if I were to show you the whole picture (I'll maintain it was a bad day, or bad angle - but I think things are really changing now!)  Maybe next week things will slim down in the face and just show up in the 'bump'.  Time will tell.
Alas, Week 23...

Mullett

My favorite place on Earth is here...Mullett Lake, MI.
Luckily its pretty enough that Eric puts up with going there every (other) year and spending a week with my family (in virtual seclusion).  Did I mention how much I LOVE this place?!?  Well this year it was even more fun b/c my nephew was there, and my SIL's parents got to come stay for a few days, and my SIL and I shared mocktails all week long... that's right!!  I am going to be an aunt AGAIN!  And even more fun these cousins are going to be just a few weeks apart!!!  So exciting.
Of course one of Mullett's fine traditions is taking family photos on the porch.
Beck, Dad, Chad, Mom, Mama Sue and me
Heading to Vivio's for pizza is also always on the agenda.

Where we have the BEST pizza ever, and of course take more family photos around the table. :)

Eric and I
Then after stuffing ourselves full of pizza we stop for ice cream on the way home.  (remember - eat, look at the baby. *wink*)  Drew REALLY enjoyed this part of the day, going from Grandpops to Gramps getting bites of all their ice cream.

The pregnant ladies also really enjoyed the pizza and ice cream...

What a great start to a WONDERFUL vacation!

21 weeks, 20 pounds...

I won't make excuses as to where we have been for months, or why it hasn't been here.  I'll just start right here where we are today - 21 weeks pregnant.  (for the 99.99% of you who are family and already knew that - no shocker, if you didn't surprise!!)  This week instead of emailing out my 'belly' pics I decided to start updating this space again since I figure I better get used to it once our little man comes along.
Also this week we decided to show off more than one belly.  Eric swore he was going to go to the gym and get all buff during my pregnancy - alas, he has matched me pound for pound - and this is OUR 21 week picture, we have gained 20 pounds (10 each).  :)

In other bump news... last week was my big half way mark (and my 30th birthday on the exact same day!)  I honestly really enjoyed my birthday this year.  As scary as I thought 30 was going to be, it wasn't.  I am so excited to be starting this new 'phase' in my life and a new decade just seems like a great way to celebrate it all together.  Bring on my 30's and bring on the kiddos :)
And for my next trick I'll actually try to update this blog with our Mullett pictures :)
