Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving with Eric's family is usually really small but this year his sister and her husband came home from CA and we rented a house at the beach.  The rest of his family followed suit and we had a big, wonderful family Thanksgiving.  It was so good to see everyone!

Uncle Aaron and Auntie La

Auntie La, Blake, Pat-Pat, Daddy, Uncle Aaron - the 'young kids' had to do the dishes

Little e wore his new sweater mommy finally blocked and added buttons to. He looked ADORABLE but hardly stood still long enough to get a picture - let alone a family shot - but we tried.

'Lunch' was planned at 2 and ended up being closer to 3:30.  Little e ate potato chips and snack mix for his Thanksgiving dinner and wasn't interested in turkey or yummy trimmings (we snuck some in along with a pumpkin cookie later for his dinner).  Instead he sat and read (I love this kid!)

Little e became a BIG fan of his aunt and uncle while they were here.  We FaceTime with them almost every week so he warmed up to them really fast.  He asked where they were all the time and LOVED spending time with them (so did we).

Auntie La was sharing her chocolate cake and ice cream with e - he even asked 'Lovie have a bite?' to try to con more bites out of her.  LOL  It was a GREAT day and a start of a fun week!

Fall Fun

Since I'm going to try to keep up with my pregnancy week by week I figured maybe I should also let you see our first baby growing up and all the fun stuff we are doing.  The Fall is always the busiest time of year for us and we have the most fun.  The weather has been perfect - like 55 at night 75 (no humidity) during the day.  Perfect to get out and enjoy with friends.  We are taking full advantage and I thought I'd share some fun photos of our recent adventures.

Mullett

My favorite place on Earth is here...Mullett Lake, MI.
Luckily its pretty enough that Eric puts up with going there every (other) year and spending a week with my family (in virtual seclusion).  Did I mention how much I LOVE this place?!?  Well this year it was even more fun b/c my nephew was there, and my SIL's parents got to come stay for a few days, and my SIL and I shared mocktails all week long... that's right!!  I am going to be an aunt AGAIN!  And even more fun these cousins are going to be just a few weeks apart!!!  So exciting.
Of course one of Mullett's fine traditions is taking family photos on the porch.
Beck, Dad, Chad, Mom, Mama Sue and me
Heading to Vivio's for pizza is also always on the agenda.

Where we have the BEST pizza ever, and of course take more family photos around the table. :)

Then after stuffing ourselves full of pizza we stop for ice cream on the way home.  (remember - eat, look at the baby. *wink*)  Drew REALLY enjoyed this part of the day, going from Grandpops to Gramps getting bites of all their ice cream.

The pregnant ladies also really enjoyed the pizza and ice cream...

What a great start to a WONDERFUL vacation!

Holiday Skiing

After we recuperated with our napping and knitting we did hit the slopes at Sugar Mountain in NC.  Eric tried to teach me how to snowboard, and once UP I was quite successful, but getting up off my butt... well that was a different story entirely.  After about an hour on the bunny hill (50 minutes of which was like horrendous situps trying to go from laying flat on your back to standing on a awkward board on slippery icy snow) I gave up and put skis on (Eric kept his snowboard - b/c he knows what the devil he's doing) and up the lift we went...
On the first trip down Eric remembered the 'secret' to getting from your ars to standing on a snowboard.  Yeah, that would have been good to remember before.  Alas, I skied - he snowboarded (it was 11 degrees with blowing snow) so we both froze, they closed the slopes to groom and home we went to warm up (with dinner and some wine).
Skiing vacation....check!

Now onto the sightseeing....

Christmas Vacation

Before the big holiday and things getting really crazy, Eric and I decided to use our vacation (well - use it or lose it) and take a break.  We opted for a trip to the mountains in NC for some skiing, and sightseeing and ruckus.  But before we could get to that, there was alot of unwinding and by that I mean....
Napping...

and Knitting...
and more napping...
and then more knitting...
(sorry there are no pictures of me actually knitting, but the other one... well he was napping!)  LOL.  We enjoyed relaxing and unwinding (and knitting and napping) and then we did get to all that skiing and sightseeing business.  Next time...
