Shrimping 2011

This weekend was opening day of shrimping season in South Carolina.  Shrimping has been one of our favorite things to do as a couple for a long time now.  The season runs from the middle of September to the middle of November - but its always the most fun right at first - when the weather is almost still Summer-like.
Eric getting ready to toss the net

This year we also realized I may not be agile enough to toss a shrimp net or enjoy the rocking of a boat - so we went right away before things got 'too big' for me- lol.
WARNING - serious belly shots (I was trying to get a bit of a tan on this melon) and
DOUBLE WARNING - faint of heart or MOMs don't pass here...

Brave - wearing a two-piece at 26 weeks,
Braver - wearing it while tossing a cast net off the front of the boat :)
AND... although I hate that Eric always takes pictures of me from behind pulling in the cast net...I think its a bit redeeming here b/c although I looked like I swallowed a basketball above, I don't believe I look very pregnant from behind at all...

Moving on... we had a GREAT time!  We caught about 2/3 of a cooler full (our MO - we NEVER cooler out)

And we stayed out on the water popping heads and enjoying the sunset before heading back to the boat ramp.

We also snuck in a trip to the knit shop in Charleston and dinner at Fleet Landing (YUM!)  All in all it was a WONDERFUL day (did I mention we drove down to Charleston, did all this and drove home in a day?!?!)  But it was the most amazing day - filled with fun conversation, (gorgeous yarn), good company, beautiful scenery, amazing weather, good shrimping, yummy dinner and a safe trip.  *smiles*

How was your weekend? :)
*please excuse that all pictures were taken from my crappy cell phone camera - we brought the nice camera and forgot it in the car!*
