Weekend Festivities - Part 3

The Reception! Well, the reception started right around 6pm - as did the HUGE Clemson game against VT.  So the iPad made its debut at the cocktail hour (live streaming the game...)

And luckily was well hid behind the centerpiece at our corner table as well...

And only went out once... at a very critical play in the third quarter...

Our Tigers pulled out a HUGE win though and we didn't miss too much of the reception checking the score and watching a few plays :)

In addition to all these good times, we also didn't miss out on the cake cutting ceremony.  It was a beautiful cake, and they were sweet and nice to each other (much to Josh's diappointment!)

Then things got a tad bit rowdy (or as rowdy as they can get when you are thirty and have pregnant ladies all around).  There was alot of fist pumping going on...

and the infamous 'serious face pose'

and then it was time for the bride and groom to make their exit (in STYLE this time...) including an old Rolls Royce and homebrewed (by the groom) beer for each wedding guest.

As you can tell we had a GREAT time - and really enjoyed getting to celebrate this fantastic couple and spend time with good friends.  Congratulations to Lee and Cass!!  :)

Weekend Festivities - Part 2

Lee's wedding weekend continued on Saturday - but the wedding wasn't until 5:30pm.  So to entertain ourselves for the day we headed out for breakfast (with the groom and some other friends) to an amazing waffle place!  (if I don't pass my glucose test this week I'm totally blaming the amazing but SUPER sweet waffle breakfast!)

Afterwards we headed to Mecktoberfest - an Oktoberfest being put on by a local brewery.  The event was scheduled 12-10pm - but must be a mostly an 'evening' affair b/c we opened the place up at 12.  However, with our early arrival we got the pick of the litter seats in front of the only TV so we could combine football with beer drinking (or beer drinking watching in some cases!)

After a short nap we got ready and headed to the wedding.  It was a great venue for the intimate ceremony they had (60ppl or so) and the weather was perfect (if not a tad chilly) but the sun was shining and perfectly setting - and the flowers were great Fall colors and it was just gorgeous... almost as much so as the bride!

The groom - waiting on his bride

The beautiful bride and her Father
They said their "I do's"....

And Lee kissed his bride...

And they lived happily ever after...

(well there was a reception too - but you'll have to wait til Part 3 for that...)

Weekend Festivities - Part 1

This weekend we travelled to Charlotte, NC to one of Eric's very best friend's weddings.  We were very excited about the occasion b/c it gave us a chance to catch up with some old friends and celebrate a great couple and think about our own Fall wedding (almost three years ago now!)

I am pretty sure Lee was more excited about Friday night than Saturday even, and we were looking forward to seeing the set up b/c the party was out on their 20 acres that will one day be their home and horse farm. The party was perfect for the setting, with a tent lit with Christmas lights, bbq, music, a bonfire and fresh flowers on the table in mason jars or burlap wrapped cans. (oh and some of the very best cupcakes I have ever had - salted caramel - YUM!)

It was also great to start catching up with old friends.
Eric, Lee and Josh

These three lived together in college and have remained best of buds since then.  It was good to get back together and (not that we would have needed it but) to have a reason to celebrate!

Reason to Celebrate!!  Lee and Cass
I think a good time was had by all and certainly kicked off the weekend on the right foot!

Tomorrow - Oktoberfest - and weddings!  :)

So Much to Say...

So much to say, so much to say, so much to say....
We've been gone (again) for quite some time (maybe the longest dry spell) but I'll try to start catching up...
We've had some big happenings this Fall...
Eric shot a great deer at his new hunt club this year (a 6 point buck even)

Nikki got a brand new Subaru (*eek!)  I LOVE it!

Eric's cousin Jesse got married (to his beautiful bride Elizabeth)

They had a perfect southern wedding complete with cotton for decorations, boiled peanuts and bottled cokes, and Lauren even came back East and joined us for it.  It was a fantastic occasion.

(Logan with his coke - couldn't he just be a commercial?  Too cute!)

Eric and his sister

Up next - Thanksgiving (prepare yourself for the nephew cuteness) and even lots since we've been home.  Hoping to be in this space a little more (so you don't get to missing us so much!)

More Wedding Details...

The morning after the wedding, I had a bit of a surprise for Geordie - another wedding gift in the form of some of Mama Sue's pumpkin cookies!! :)   I think they might have been a bigger hit than the card even with cash!  lol!  He asked me if he had to share them with his now wife... I told him I was pretty sure that's how it was going to work from here on out - sharing with his wife!  But he was allowed to tell her they were awful and he was only eating them b/c I gave them to him!

And I neglected to mention before that Eric was there - and he had a great time.  Sorry hun!

(ha ha!  with the hat!)   They had a PhotoBooth at their wedding (SO MUCH FUN!) - and even had crazy hats and props to go with it!

Eric (as always) wanted to make a serious face - and it worked out great for our message in their book from us!  You can see all of them here - but check us out below!

Congratulations Again and thanks for all the fun memories!

Next up...Christmas!  Yea!  (well Christmas trees and decorating anyway) "Its the most wonderful time of the year..."
