Weekend Festivities - Part 2

Lee's wedding weekend continued on Saturday - but the wedding wasn't until 5:30pm.  So to entertain ourselves for the day we headed out for breakfast (with the groom and some other friends) to an amazing waffle place!  (if I don't pass my glucose test this week I'm totally blaming the amazing but SUPER sweet waffle breakfast!)

Afterwards we headed to Mecktoberfest - an Oktoberfest being put on by a local brewery.  The event was scheduled 12-10pm - but must be a mostly an 'evening' affair b/c we opened the place up at 12.  However, with our early arrival we got the pick of the litter seats in front of the only TV so we could combine football with beer drinking (or beer drinking watching in some cases!)

After a short nap we got ready and headed to the wedding.  It was a great venue for the intimate ceremony they had (60ppl or so) and the weather was perfect (if not a tad chilly) but the sun was shining and perfectly setting - and the flowers were great Fall colors and it was just gorgeous... almost as much so as the bride!

The groom - waiting on his bride

The beautiful bride and her Father
They said their "I do's"....

And Lee kissed his bride...

And they lived happily ever after...

(well there was a reception too - but you'll have to wait til Part 3 for that...)

Weekend Festivities - Part 1

This weekend we travelled to Charlotte, NC to one of Eric's very best friend's weddings.  We were very excited about the occasion b/c it gave us a chance to catch up with some old friends and celebrate a great couple and think about our own Fall wedding (almost three years ago now!)

I am pretty sure Lee was more excited about Friday night than Saturday even, and we were looking forward to seeing the set up b/c the party was out on their 20 acres that will one day be their home and horse farm. The party was perfect for the setting, with a tent lit with Christmas lights, bbq, music, a bonfire and fresh flowers on the table in mason jars or burlap wrapped cans. (oh and some of the very best cupcakes I have ever had - salted caramel - YUM!)

It was also great to start catching up with old friends.
Eric, Lee and Josh

These three lived together in college and have remained best of buds since then.  It was good to get back together and (not that we would have needed it but) to have a reason to celebrate!

Reason to Celebrate!!  Lee and Cass
I think a good time was had by all and certainly kicked off the weekend on the right foot!

Eric and I at the party :)
Tomorrow - Oktoberfest - and weddings!  :)

It Begins...

The Third Trimester!!  I am soo excited to be 'heading down the home stretch' of this pregnancy.  I've been feeling really good up until now and am just excited to meet our little man.  Since starting the third trimester though (or really about a week before) I've started really battling acid reflux, hip soreness at night and a tiny bit of swelling.  I'm guessing its just a sign of things to come - but still very thankful for the first (fairly smooth) 27 weeks and still feeling relatively good now!

Having 12 weeks to go I thought it would be fun to not only post what I look like at 28 weeks but to also include a photo from 12 weeks ago...(which was when I excitedly sent a phone pic to my family exclaiming I was 'showing'- ahhh... when what I thought I had was a 'bump' - lol!)

16 weeks

And now - at 28 weeks - where I have something a bit more like a basketball than merely a bump!  lol

Ohio Baby Shower

Last weekend we went to Ohio for a wonderful weekend - filled with visits with friends, a baby shower and a cruise through the county fair.  It was all really great but I'll start off with pictures from the shower.
Mom and Kelly threw the shower for me (and Brandy ended up helping I think just as much) and it was just perfect.  They hosted it at the home that is part of our church, which is great b/c it comes complete with large rooms, serving dishes and a beautiful setting.  So first the details...

The spread

Diaper cake and gifts for guests

Shower gifts for guests - a cookie cutter and family recipe for cut-out cookies

Amazing stack of gifts
In addition to all the food, and gifts and decorations there were alot of wonderful people who came to the shower including alot of mom's good friends who have watched me grow up, my Aunt Jackie, my Grandma and a few of her sisters

my closest cousin, Julie and her adorable oldest, Ella...

And good friends from High School (more on them later) and of course my BFF, Brandy who made the drive with me.

Mama Sue came after her 70th Class Reunion (which she planned!)

I had a great time introducing everyone to each other, visiting with familiar faces, and getting so much good advice from so many amazing moms.  It was really a GREAT shower.  :)

All put together by the greatest mom and sister a girl could ever ask for

Afterwards I think Kelly was a little bit worn out..

But a great time was had by all..

And I think Brandy was glad she made the trip... (we had a GREAT time together ALL weekend.  A girl is pretty lucky to have a BFF like her!)

Baby Buckeye

Our son will most definitely be a 'Tiny Tiger' but there is also a good chance he will be a 'Baby Buckeye' as well.  Growing up in Ohio the only real option is to be a Buckeye fan - and since I was headed back to the Buckeye state on Friday I decided Football Friday would be better celebrated in an Ohio State shirt this week.  So - here is our baby buckeye...

26 weeks

What pregnancy is like at 26 weeks:

I can:
still tie my shoes (sorta, on the side), throw a cast net, walk up the street with Eric in the evenings, see my toes, sleep pretty well, drink a glass of OJ (this might be my FAVORITE part of being pregnant)
I can't:
get away with a just a larger shirt (need maternity length), 'hop' out of bed, roll over without bringing the leg pillow with me, sleep all night without peeing (still only once a night though), eat without heartburn

I can:
Feel my baby move all the time
I can't:
Wait to meet him.
