Soggy Beginnings, Sweet Endings

Friday night in Augusta was soggy - there was ALOT of rain to sit through waiting for the Avetts. Katie had purchased our tickets in the first 30 - so we got in early with the "Fan Club" to pick out the GREATEST seats! Here we are HOURS early for the show - just starting to get a little soaking, sopping wet!



Finally after hours of sitting - some other people showed up (my husband included) to enjoy the seats we had saved. Eric was also smart enough to bring his own whole rainsuit... compared to the hippies in the front with no umbrellas, raincoats, or even shoes - we were showing our age!



Finally our Avetts took the stage (and right as the rain had stopped too!!) and it was just WONDERFUL!

Finally we decided to REALLY show our age. After the show there was an after party (chance to maybe meet the band even!) at Stillwater Taproom. But Stillwater is THE tiniest bar in Augusta (but the first place they played here I think!) and its ALWAYS packed on a Friday anyway (wall to wall people and smoke) and now 350+ people were headed over there too. So after the show, we himmed and we hawed... and then we decided to go to Boll-Weevil for some dessert instead. LOL! We are getting OLD people!



Here we are enjoying our desserts. Mandy and Joseph, Greg and Meghan, Katie and Jason, Eric and I, and Matt and Kelli (and baby Will inside - this was his FOURTH Avett Brothers show!!)

Anyway, our soggy beginnings had sweet endings as we left with more delightful Avetts memories in our heads, and yummy, yummy apple blossoms in our bellies. What a great night!
