Shrimping Tutorial (kind of)

Well I had promised a bit of a shrimping tutorial, and here are some of the steps when baiting for shrimp.

First, bait. Its GROSS! Fishmeal mixed with clay (to hold it together) and a large squirt of menhaden milk (don't ask - its really gross!) but the idea here is STINKY - and it is that. So you mix it all up with some water (and by you I ALWAYS mean Eric) and make a 'bait ball'. Roll it in some more fishmeal for good measure (and so your wife has to get somewhat stink and dirty when she throws them out...)

Then casting a net. I won't pretend to be an expert, but the basic idea is to take the net in your hand (and your mouth) (looking mighty manly and sexy I might add...but moving on..ahem)

swing back (the dog was VERY interested as you can see)

Launch a perfect circle

Out into the water - and catch your shreemps! (Now I need to mention that generally there is a pole marking where your bait is - and giving you a target. But during that process I am intently driving the boat against the wind and the tide - so these are 'practice' shots).

And with better luck than us you can catch a cooler full of 'em!
